The Peninsula Picnic 2023 opens at 11:30am and closes at 7:00pm.
The ticket price provides entry into the event site.
Food and drinks can be purchased on-site from the food vendors.
Drive
Address: Gate 3, 320 Racecourse Rd, Mornington
Travel on M1/Eastlink, Peninsula Link or the Nepean Highway into Mornington. Travel time is just over 1 hour from Melbourne’s CBD.
Free car parking is available at Mornington Racecourse.
Train
Frankston lines depart regularly from Flinders St Station to Frankston Station. For information on public transport options to Mornington Racecourse, please visit the PTV website.
Taxi/UBER
Patrons can be dropped off at the Main Entrance via Gate 3, 320 Racecourse Road.
Free Parking is available in the Mornington Racecourse Public Car Park which can be accessed via Gate 3, 320 Racecourse Road Mornington.
A taxi/UBER rank will be in operation all through the event, located upon Exit from the Racecourse.
All you could ever want to eat and drink will be available at The Peninsula Picnic for everyone to enjoy. While not encouraged, food is permitted.
No alcohol can be brought into the event. Glassware is also strictly prohibited.
We will be offering specially branded Vino Goblets for $5. This reusable goblet is specially designed to preserve the taste of the wine, it’s environmentally friendly and easy to use while lounging on your picnic rug!
You are welcome to bring your own plastic and paper picnic-ware to put together your own plates from local produce offerings.
Metal knives, including cheese knives, and wine glasses are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated by security upon entry.
The Peninsula Picnic is a pet free zone so please don’t bring animals with you to site (excluding guide dogs).
Professional audio and video recording equipment is not permitted. Domestic cameras and video cameras are permitted but not allowed to record live performances.
There will be a designated area for people who wish to smoke at the event. Smoking is only permitted in this area.
Peninsula Picnic is a Cashless event however ATMs will be available for Market Stall and kids activity purchases.
Should the event not be sold out, limited tickets will be available at the gate on the day.

Your ticket will be sent as an attachment to the email address you submit with your order. You can scan the digital ticket from your phone or print out your tickets and bring with you to scan to gain entry.
If you look over 18, yes you will be asked for proof of age at the gate.
Also please note any attendee under 18 years of age wishing to attend The Peninsula Picnic that is a minor must be accompanied by a responsible adult. A responsible adult, for the purposes of supervising a minor on licensed premises, must be a parent or someone reasonably taking the place of a parent. The following is considered when determining whether or not the accompanying adult is responsible:
- the age of the accompanying adult (guiding principle is 30+);
- the relationship between the accompanying adult and the minor;
- the amount of supervision being provided; and
- in all the circumstances, the reasonableness of the supervision being provided

To purchase alcohol: If you are over 18 years and look under 25 years old – you will require a proof of age wrist band.
Identification will be required to be shown at the Proof of Age Marquee to receive a wrist band.
In addition, bar and winery service staff may also ask for proof of age when purchasing drinks.
To gain entry with a child’s ticket: If you have a child’s ticket and look over 18 years old, you will need to provide proof of age to security at the entrance to gain entry.
The Peninsula Picnic is a great event for the whole family. With a dedicated kids’ play zone and activities, plenty of space to play, run and relax, bring the extended fam and make it a day out.
Tickets are available to purchase for 5 – 17 years old and under 5s are free but must hold a valid ticket for entry.
Please note that all under 18s must be supervised by a responsible parent or guardian at all times.
The Peninsula Picnic is an outdoor event and the event will always go ahead as long as it is safe to do so. There will be no ticket refunds for wet weather unless the MRC cancels or postpones the event for such reasons.
On the brighter side if it’s a sunny day, there is a limited amount of shade on-site so please come prepared with hats and plenty of sunscreen (we’ll have some too).
Eventgoers can bring camping or picnic chairs to use throughout the festival. There will however be an exclusion zone in front of the stage where no chairs will be permitted.
Chairs will also be available for hire on the day.
